# Tails - Moolticute

**THIS DOCUMENT IS PROGRESS, DO NOT TRUST IT.** At this point the document is just a collection of notes I'm keeping while I figure out how to do this myself. Once the process is ready (and repeatable) I'll flesh out the document and remove this notice.

# notes

Use browser to visit [mooltipass/moolticute](https://launchpad.net/~mooltipass/+archive/ubuntu/moolticute) on Launchpad

At the top right of the "Overview of published packages" list, click "View package details"

In the "Packages" list, open the one with "xenial" in the name

In the list of packages, download the "amd64" package

Store the package in local "persistent" repo (see OnlyKey write-up, probably need to split that out into its own document)

* `./go` in persistent repo
* `sudo apt-get update`
* `sudo apt-get install moolticute`

Create persistent udev file

```
$ cat /lib/live/mount/persistence/TailsData_unlocked/udev-rules.d/50-mooltipass-mini.rules
ATTRS{idVendor}=="16d0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="09a0", SYMLINK+="mooltipass", MODE="0664", GROUP="plugdev"
$ ln -s /lib/live/mount/persistence/TailsData_unlocked/udev-rules.d/50-mooltipass-mini.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
```

-or- from [`https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mooltipass/mooltipass-udev/master/udev/69-mooltipass.rules`](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mooltipass/mooltipass-udev/master/udev/69-mooltipass.rules)

```
# udev rules for allowing console user(s) and libusb access to Mooltipass Mini devices
ACTION!="add|change", GOTO="mooltipass_end"
# console user
SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="16d0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="09a0", MODE="0660", GROUP="plugdev", SYMLINK+="mooltipass_keyboard", TAG+="uaccess", TAG+="udev-acl"
SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1209", ATTRS{idProduct}=="4321", MODE="0660", GROUPS="plugdev", SYMLINK+="mooltipass_keyboard", TAG+="uaccess", TAG+="udev-acl"
# libusb
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="16d0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="09a0", MODE="0660", GROUP="plugdev", SYMLINK+="mooltipass_device", TAG+="uaccess"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1209", ATTRS{idProduct}=="4321", MODE="0660", GROUP="plugdev", SYMLINK+="mooltipass_device", TAG+="uaccess"
LABEL="mooltipass_end"
```

unplug device, `ls -laF /dev/usb/`

connect device, `ls -laF /dev/usb/` ... new entry should be mode `0664` and group `plugdev`
